Earlier this week I got into an argument with several people on deviantart, one of which was [link]

This was started over his and some of his companions (crudely) photoshopped (looked more like mspaint) images of Obama that were supposed to incite debate over whether he'd be "president for life" and so on and so forth.

Naturally I went in to correct them (I know I'm being pompous here but please, 22nd Amendment people) and the shitstorm started with me criticizing the origin of the problems and them attacking Obama and me for not freaking out about our government being destroyed, Palin being sabotaged by the media, blah blah blah.

Their arguments really had very little substance beyond "It's common knowledge" and "Why don't you go look at The Economist and the WSJ, stupid." So I did, and what do you know nothing about how Obama has added more to the deficit than any other president in history (one of their claims). I know this is being self-righteous of me, but I never once attacked them for being brainwashed, not thinking for themselves, or being ignorant.

But, this is what it eventually turned into. In case you didn't know, I can't think for myself, I have been brainwashed, and I have Bush Derangement Syndrome. So in response I said "I have the decency not to accuse/insult you, please respect my opinion like I respect yours."

Buuuuuut this person [link] responded with "At least, I'm not as ignorant as you clearly are" and ended the discussion by blocking me.

How incredibly immature and stupid. Congratulations neo-cons, when you don't want to defend your views, just insult and block your opponents.
